I have some experience teaching yoga for Parkinson’s. I wondered if there were any exceptions to your requirement that classes in your network be taught by trained dancers and dance instructors.

In nurturing teachers to teach classes based on our model, we try to adhere to the vision of the program’s founder–Olie Westheimer–who remains adamant about the unique approach and movement knowledge that trained dancers bring to the class. So we’ve set up our teacher qualifications to maintain that vision. However, you are of course most welcome to collaborate with a local trained dancer near you to offer a class in your community. We often have pairs of teachers (one who meets our requirements for dance teachers and another who brings other gifts and experience) come train with us, and that model has been successful in several communities.
